This assignment had me looking through a collection of photographs by the fashion photographer Gérard Uféras. I was given a collection of photos and all the text that needed to be in the book, I then paired the photographs and set the type into a book, as well as designed a dust jacket
Process
My first step was to pair the photographs so they look good together, one photo for each page. To do this I had all of them printed out in a small format and taped them into pairs on a large piece of paper. I looked at the angles and shapes that were present in the photographs and arranged them so each photo would compliment the other. I then played with the scale of the photographs in the layout to best emphasize the forms and how each photograph played off each other.
